I'm looking for a disc brake kit to fit on my 74 ford maverick 5lug 8" rear axle. I'm not looking to put parts together from other cars. I want to buy a complete kit.
Does anyone know who might sell a complete kit?
Also what size bearings does this axle have. Wdw-u1 3.00

    Speedway sells a bolt-on kit. It's about $400.

The Crown Vic setup "may" be a better deal. Not sure.

Thanks for the info. Are the 5 lug maverick rear ends considered small bearing axles?

yes they are considered small bearing axles.
any 9" disk brake kit for the small bearing axle will work on any 5 lug 8".

those will work. im not a big fan of those calipers. they are a pain to bleed and adjust the parking brake.

Doing the Crown Vic swap will be hundreds of dollars cheaper. To do this swap you will need to shave the bottom of the axle flange and re-flare brake lines.

With the crown Vic swap I would have to shave the flange and re-flare the brake line?

Yep....I got less than $50 invested in my rear disc. The junkyard parts were still in new condition...didn't have to buy nothing else...except brake fluid.

that write up sure makes it sound a lot harder than it really is.
if I remember correctly we converted one maverick (Jeff) and one Comet (Terry) to rear disc brakes in one day at my shop.
