hey guys - said screw studying and took the Mav out for a spin

Sitting a parking lot right now as the car was trying to stall out at red lights in gear.

Runs fine in park and neutral. Just drove about 20 miles at 70 mph with no problems. Happened at the first two red lights after getting off highway.

Seemed to be alright as long as I stepped on the gas/moving.

Any ideas? Maybe something I could check in the parking lot before trying to make it home?

About a mile from my house...

Might need to bump the idle up a little.

I'll give it a try - was running fine til just now tho.

Was thinking overheated the transmission or something... Was hoping not a bad transmission haha

Looks like a vacuum gauge may be good early birthday present for myself

Alright - I'm back to this again.

Hooked up the vacuum gauge and reading a steady 22 on the meter. Tweaked it alittle, but wasn't bad at all.

I'm getting a pretty hard and steady stumble on the engine when I'm in Drive or Reverse (to the point that I don't want to drive it). In Park or Neutral, it runs better and smoother than any car I've ever owned.

I'm slowly leaking trans fluid, but topped it off before putting it in gear. I'm kinda leaning back to a transmission issue, unless someone has other thoughts.

(Edit: After doing some research on the site, thinking maybe I need to bump up the idle for when it is in gear while leaving the park/neutral idle the same. The holley demon manual is leaving me hanging alittle.... Is this the "fast idle" screw? I had thought fast idle was only for when the car was warming up. The idle screw by the throttle linkage is what I've been adjusting, and seems to affect the idle both in gear and in park/neutral :scratchchin:)

The idle screw will affect idle speed in in gear/park and neutral. With 22 on meter, I wud not think it's a vac leak.

Yea, it sounds like we're on the same page. I was pretty happy about the 22 though... First time with a gauge on the engine since building and that's not a bad number to have.
