They are really difficult to find intact. One suggestion that I have here since switching to metal from plastic ... it may be a good idea to install this with rubber washer between it and the grille. Just thinking that the vibrational shock that breaks the mount may start getting transferred to the grille and damage it.

Might be nothing to it ... Maverick grilles mount direct to steel. Do the areas in the middle of the grille frequently get broken? Still, that Comet grille hangs further out and might be more leverage on it.

Mine is slightly cracking everywhere it mounts to the supports BUT I can't honestly 100% say due to the fact it has been painted by previous owners and having broken tabs once I took ownership of it. I guess it makes a difference on how snug you tighten the nuts down on them as well with heat/humidity where you live being as they are plastic.

If you happen to have a spare 1972 metal mount that attaches to the center of the grille pm a price for it. I can't get it right now but if it's stashed I've been tracking down parts I know I Need and people who have it.
