Well, I bought a new starter yesterday, wires, and solinoid, but i still don't think i'm getting spark. New coil and plugs were an earlier addition. I still need to do some troubleshooting to figure out what's wrong. (oh, do these cars use ballest resistors? or is the coil supposed to be internal resistance coil?) I asked for one at the parts house when i was getting other stuff for the car, and i didn't even think to check about a resistor...

Is there an option for electronic ignition (pertronix, etc) for the 6??

I also took out the back seat and "broke" into my trunk last night. I found the usual rat's nest in the seats, but the trunk was in great shape. I found my spare, of course, the old jack, an old pair of pliers, new head/carb/intake gasket, old flashlight, new pair of brake shoes, and a few other things that aren't worth listing.

I'm going to try and patch the hole in my tank with a fiberglass repair kit. I have a friend that did that to one of his work trucks and it's held up well. 95% of the tank is in GREAT shape, but for some reason that one spot rusted through...

    update

well, last night i worked on my spark problem... no luck! I'm getting 12V to the coil, but nothing from the coil, and it's new. :hmmm: I'm beginning to think i got a bum coil from the parts house...:( ...

I also got the front seat out, along with the old carpet and mildew-e cardboard stuff that is under the carpet. It was pretty nasty. On the up side of things, i found little to no rust, and what rust there is was surface and easily fixable with a wire brush. I'm continually amazed in the condition of this car... (oh, i also found 49 cents and since i didn't pay anything for the car, i guess i made money on the deal)

I took the gas tank out and swept out my trunk. Not many people can say that, but with the nice hole in the floor from the tank... I think the tank is going to be fixable as well, so that's good. A little fiberglass and bondo and wa-la, brand new tank!

That's about it for now. Thanks for all the positive words and encouragement!

Ok, well, i just completed my first real fiberglass job, and am probably high, haha:woohoo1:I would have been a lot better off mixing less resin and doing it in stages, but, well, i didn't. I was patching a hole in my gas tank and kept finding small holes that needed patching, so i ended up just covering about a third of the bottom just for good measure. Anyway, just thought i'd share. I'll try to borrow the gf's camera to give you guys some updates...
