Comet grill question.

    I have been reading but not found a answer.I have a 3 bar grill busted but stainless bars are perfect.I have a perfect plain grill.What is the difference?Can I use the bars on my grill?

    The front lip under the stainless bars is much thinner to accept the stainless trim. You would have to do a lot of sanding or filing to get it down to fit. - Matt

    I tried that too. Gave up in short order. You would have to carve the edges of the wide bars on the grill narrower and leave tabs for the stainless to clamp on to. Carefully remove one of the stainless bars to see what I mean.

    I did find that the stainless bars do slide over the thinner slats between the wide ones, and the stainless from two grills could be added to a third with those bars to make a grill where the entire middle is stainless bars. The extra bars would have to be bonded on, perhaps epoxy. The picture below show extra stainless bars for the top half and thin slats below.
