Hello all, I bought yesterday a 73 Maverick. This car is in California, will be shipped in the next weeks. As soon as my car will be at home I will send pics and probably will have tons of questions before to start a restoration. Thanks, Manu
Was a factory AC car....but the compressor, bracket, and lines have been removed. (Saw the AC sticker on the shock tower and the holes in the cowl from the heater bypass valve.)
You're right was the A/C but it has been removed, I won't put back it back. But I have a question: the heater core is missing, I guess there are two different cores, one for non ac and one for ac. As I won't put back the ac, should I install the heater like it was originally or it doesn't matter? The car is still in US and I would like to fill up the trunk with some parts before the car arrive in France. All V8 302 came with 2v Autolite carbs? My plan, later, is to change the single exaust by changing headers, 2 flowmasters and a H pipe between. Find a set of rims, maybe in 15". A Grant 13,5" steering wheel. Remove the front drums by disks. Maybe change the intake and the carb (4v to replace the 2v). I like the Ford Maverick, to me it's a very interesting alternative when I see how the price of the Mustang increasing a lot. Thank you for your help.
You need the core to match whatever heater box the car has. If it still has the AC/heater box inside the car, you will need an AC heater core. I bet it still has the AC/heater box.
