Well, just got done finishing the rear leaf springs and shocks on my car. Thought it would sit a little higher, but I'm content with it. I also put my slots on it and went with 235's on the rear.

Ther rims are in need of some major polishing, but after doing the springs I have to put everything on to see how it would look. Call me inpatient:D

The leaf springs were not that bad. Ran into a little snag along the way. When I bought the car it had no mufflers and the exhaust exited the car in front of the back wheel. When I got the car in the air I saw that I had to cut the exhaust because it was covering the bolt for the leaf spring. Well, I cut the pipe and more trouble...seems they welded a bolt to the frame so they could bolt up a bracket to support the exhaust. Well, they welded the bolt in the hole that gives you access to the leaf spring bolt. Kinda sucked! Couldn't fit a grinder or a cutting wheel in there so we had to use a dremel and like 10 cutting pads to get through the welds.

But, in the end I think it could go a little higher, or maybe a little lower in the front?

    Any Suggestions?

Where did you get the springs and how many leafs?

How much taller is the rear now than before?

Got them form JC Whitney, 4 leafs.....I think it raised it about an inch or so. It was sagging a little before I changed them.

Looks good but I think it needs to go lower all the way around or else put bigger tires on the rear.

Well, can't go too much bigger with the tire....thats a 60 series now. 70 would look like too much tire. I love how todds car sits. I got the springs from jcwhitney. I may go and order a set from ESPO with a 2 inch lift.

I'm a little disappointed with the end result, but still looks better than it did.

:confused:Think the spring helpers are safe and effective?

    SCOTT,

I do need that acid for the wheels.....we gotta get together soon. Once the 74 is gone I'll have plates on the 73 so I can show ya.

how much higher would a maveick sit with a 2 inch higher spring....i know 2 inches higher than stock...but what does that equate to in a 71 maverick..... mine sits a little low in the back....and i have air shicks to keep it somewhat level.... but i am not sure how far below level my level is

is there a ride height measurement thats stock? and where is the measurement taken at?

Hey NJ, What size and series tires are you running in the front? And what kind of shocks did you get?

well, I think it's high time our state rep starts looking at his calandar to pick a time for us all to meet up. Steve's car is together, NJMaverick (sorry, forgot name:slap: ) has his car up here, my carpet's coming today, seats will hopefully be in in 3 weeks or so. I'm itching to get back into cruise night mode, tired of waiting for nice weather, once I have a place to sit, I'll be back on the road. Swap meets are coming up, soon :D
