It's in the VIN and the MartiReport.

A '70 would not be in the VIN. For a '70 you would need just the basic Marti report or the original paperwork for the car. If you have a window sticker it will show it and even the build sheet has it. Check under the seats. My '70 grabber had the build sheet tucked into the springs of the seat.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune :
Know the feeling .. I had to be ' cut out ' of my beautiful 75 Comet when some lady on a cell phone came over the hill and T-Boned me .. The Comet was a total.. I was pinned in with my clutch & brake pedals .. when they cut them away to get Me out my foot dropped down and I couldn't move anything . Steel Rod in the Leg .. many , many screws to hold the ankle bones together .. Can't skateboard anymore .. I Really miss the car . But don't let this count you out..See what you can do to salvage the car ... Reads like you already have a sizable investment .. I wish you success.

My heart goes out to you. That really sucks. I can't stand people like that who drive without insurance. And wouldn't you be EXTRA careful if you didn't have insurance?
