When I came out of the store today I saw anifreeze on the ground in the front of the car. I looked under the car and saw it was because the clamp on the lower radiator hose was lose. so I tightened it up and drove back to my house because it did not look like there was alot of water on the ground and i did not live that far about one block up the road the temp light came on and the car started fogging steam out of the vents I turned the car of right away. I called a tow and when i got home the car is now leaking out of a 1 1/2 in tube coming out of the body towards the trans. on the passenger side can anybody help me find the problem I tookoff work today and I have to go back tomarrow. Thanks
My grandpa's 78' Bronco did something similar. We ended up just bypassing the old heater core, and it stopped loosing coolant.
That was a good story about that car...I liked it better when it was orange..thats just my opinion...I'll bet that thing was a head turning wild ride
does anybody know the hose that i'm talking about underneth the car between the engine and trans. that comes out of the body. when i put water in the radiator water comes out of that short hose.
Digital, I have a hunch that its got something to do with your heater core. Try takeing the 2 hoses comeing out of the water pump that run to the right side of the motor into the firewall, and run them in a circle, bypassing your heater core. Then see if you still have the problem. If you are unsure of what I am talking about, I will see if I can dig up some pictures. Thanks Grabber, and yea it was definately a head turner!
I thought I replied to this. That hose is the drain hose for the a/c coil where the condensation drains out of the box. If your heater core cracks, it will drain out that hose as well as blow out your vents.
