Hi guys , so I parted out the Mexican Maverick , and prepping the driveline , 302 , 4speed , driveshaft,& dana 44 rear end.

I was told that the dana 44 rear end is weak, u joints, spider ,carrier ... if it’s true it puts a dent in the budget for my 70 Mav .

Just curious on what you guys know . Before I proceed to transfer the parts over .

Weak is a relative term, any component can be taxed beyond it's capability. You real concern should be if it is adequate for what you want to do with it. How much power are you going to be trying to apply to the ground with this rear end?

As of right now just a 302 , that will be stroked to a 347, If things go as planned a blower and aluminum heads an other bits needed to keep it together & done right
