Has anyone done this? I know, dumb question I've seen pictures of it, but how would I go about doing this? I like the way it looks in some of the Mavs I've seen and I'd like to eventually do it to mine. Same old questions from me, how much would it run me? Where would I find the parts? How much cutting would be involved in order to get it to fit? What would I cut it with? Could I do it myself or does it need to be professionally done? Thanks a million guys.
Donor car can be Mustang, Cougar, other Maverick or Comet etc. Not much cutting is involved. Price depends on what you have to pay for parts. Try salvage yards etc. You should look for donor parts from a C4 A/T assuming that is what you have. It really shouldn't cost much at all. $100 or less. Seth
Go to pull-and-save, it's part of Spaldings in the valley area between Argonne & Pines off of montgomery. a do -it- yourself yard with good prices on most things. they also don't care if what you grab is rare or coveted, for example, a lincoln versailles rear axle is the same price as any other car rear end. a limited-slip equipped rear is the same as an open, etc.etc.
Have you been there recently? Do you know if they usually have Mavericks in there? I've been in a couple times to get parts for our Blazer but I've never even looked for Mavericks or Comets.
I put a floor shifter in my mav for free . I took the shifter out of my biscayne and put it in the mav. Its not made for a biscayne though , its a cheap after market one . I think its like 40 buxs new.
Yea , just a "little" . 4 speakers + 6 disk cd changer + CB + 2 gauges + me being bad at routing wires = huge mess . Yup its an automatic shifter , made to fit "most" cars . It almost looks just like a 3 or 4 speed shifter though , *I* think its purdy neet. I had a better picture of it but I cant find it any where and my car isn`t home right now so I can`t get a better pic .
