I believe this will work, but I want to be 100 percent sure.

Will the front and rear bumpers from a 1972 Maverick fit on a 1974 Comet?

Both of them are 2-door cars.

    Thanks in advance!

The short answer is yes.....and no. They will not bolt on without some modifications to the car, but eventually will bolt on. However, the Maverick front bumper does not follow the contour of the Comet hood....but you probably already know that! There are threads that cover it in detail. I will also mention that the fenders on a 74 are different than 72 fenders at the front where the stone guard(?) bolts on. The stone guard, or the fenders, will need to be modified for the stone guard to fit.

...and you will need a front and rear valance to go with the bumpers. If you have wheel well trim then you will need small bumper front wheel well trim to replace your big bumper trim...rear trim is the same

    Thanks guys...

I was trying to search thru old posts on this, but couldn't find all the specifics. I did see where the bolt holes need to be drilled in another spot, and also the slotted stone guard thing. But it doesn't look too difficult, relatively speaking. I just wanted to make sure it will actually work.
While a '72 Comet bumper would be ideal, they are darn near impossible to find. Even if I could find one, they cost an arm and a leg... and possibly even a spleen thrown in the deal.

I found this thread very useful when I did mine. I dont weld very well, so I had a lot of grinding....but it worked. Nothing has fallen off the car yet. The previous owner drilled holes for the rear bumper that seemed to be in the right spot, so I didnt have to research that one. http://mmb.maverick.to/resources/big-to-small-bumper-conversion.182/
