A couple different issues I'd like to try and solve in this 1 thread. #1 I bought this proportioning valve https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/231631393689 My brake light warning switch connector does not fit that switch. Same shape but it's dumb, the connector is slightly smaller enough to not go on at all. I don't t have my old switch either. The seller says he can't get a pigtail and I can't find one either. Luckily I have not filled my master with fluid yet just in case. My second issue is I have Holley valve covers with twist style holes. Well of course that's a problem with a pcv valve. I have a new pcv valve into a twist style grommet....but it leaks. I applied Permatex #2 to the hole and grommet and it still leaks. Do I have to silicone this? I'm wondering why I can't find a proper solution talking to anyone considering how old these covers are.
AFAIK the switch doesn't seal anything, just a switch to turn on brake light if pressure is low on one side of system... Back in '70 & '80s almost all cars had a brake light burning, if valve moved it would seldom reposition itself... Dunno what to say on the VC, I have the chrome repop Power By Ford on my Comet with twist in PCV adapter, doesn't leak(at least noticeably)...
Yea it's just something I'd like to have working properly. Can you expand on your adapter and how it works? It's not a grommet correct?
Do you mean with this type filler?? If so the '68-'69 390 & 428 used a twist in grommet with ears... Mustang/Torino etc vendors should have it...
I do I made one yes and yes that's what I was talking about. it leaks. can you point me to what you actually have? I hate to buy ANOTHER pcv but I can't have this leaking like this. also, does this look like what came in our MAvericks? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Musta...ash=item282fc9f724:g:GPAAAOSwJtdaECXd&vxp=mtr if so I need to order it asap
I don't remember exactly how brake switch looks... I can look at mine tomorrow... Summit has the grommet I'm talking about... https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sdk-c7az-6892/overview/make/ford
With a properly functioning baffle you should be able to leave your PCV valve completely out of the grommet and not have excess oil migrating onto your valve covers. How many miles and in what condition is your engine? From the description of your engine's PCV system leak, it would appear you may have excess blow-by into the crankcase thus causing internal pressure resulting in oil forced by the grommet and onto the valve covers. Just a thought.
Will this work? It's ready to go on https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/162845495483
I would think not. It appears to be a push fit cap. If your engine has excess blow-by and even if you were able to arrest the oil leak situation, all you are doing is masking the problem.
it's a twist. i'll have to modify it a bit. i'm in the process of moving and I just need this car to move.
