My trans has a lot of play when try switching gears. It is a automatic colum shifter. I know I have to get new bushings however I can only seem to find one from eBay F0-300. I already ordered and Istalled it but it seems that it uses a few more different bushings. Some larger ones. Does anyone know where I can get a full bushing kit? Because the worst link that is causing the problem is the pivot arm one. That connects the column rod to the shifter rod.
Maybe someone knows of a kit but if so I'm not familiar.. The Help section at most auto parts stores have a assortment that includes one that fits the shift arm to linkage... I had to buy two kits to get what I needed... I made a bushing from a plastic spool for the cross bar to stud that mounts into block... Sloppy linkage is what causes these transmissions to jump out of park into reverse when engine is idling...

If I remember correctly rock auto sells the bushings you need. I bought a few for my car when I did the rebuild. They were the cheapest place.
I'm not sure because the old ones are non existent they must have dry rotted and fallen off. But I can give it a try.
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...mission-automatic,shift+linkage+bushing,11004 I think this was them?
I'm not 100% which position each is located, but there are three different bushings listed for '71-'72 Maverick/Comet shift linkage... No I don't have any info for '73-up... C7SZ-7341-B -- 7/16" .. This one probably fits into bracket for pin that threads into block... C8OZ-7341-A -- 3/8" D0ZZ-7341-A -- 5/16" .. These last two are for linkage connected to shift lever The issue with these is they were valid in 1975, likely have changed part numbers half dozen times by now...
This is the one that comes up the most. On eBay and other cites . I need a different one I think. But thanks alot
Apparently Dorman has taken over the line of Help products... Since this assortment is readily available at most auto parts, I reccomend going by to check it out... No waiting, no shipping cost... https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-32111-14041.aspx?origin=keyword Note Ford listing is back to '81 but part numbers are 1980, were no doubt used several years prior... As stated prior, I used same kit on mine for the linkage...
