U BOLTS AGAIN ( still) After a few days searching Forum and Web, haven't confirmed the application for U-Bolts for the 8" rear of my'74 Maverick. Axle measures @ 2 - 3/4". Is U-Bolt actually 2-7/8" ?.

Looking for 1" lowering blocks and u-bolts 'Set'. Haven't found source with Maverick 2-3/4" axle specified.
Not clear if 2-3/4" axle matches any Mustang or Cougar application years to use.

MudsangsUnlimited has lowering 'sets' for 67-73 Stang/Cougar listed as 2-7/8" - these fit ?.

    sources for yours ? ...

    From forum posts:
Probably my 74 has same axle size as typical '75-77 's 2-3/4" Mav and Granada size?.

    thanks

I just put a Scott Drake 1" lowering block in mine. I got the set from NPD (national parts depot) They are for a mustang but work perfect in the maverick. $40 bucks for the set.

Some may go by the center to center spacing on the bolts, some may use the inside to inside dimension.

    thanks for the reply,

    Do you know the size of your axle/U-bolts?. There seems to be two size 8" axles - my 74 = 2 3/4" (2 7/8" ??) .
No specs' I can find anywhere.

    OEM U-bolts are 7/16".
Stock are 5-1/4" long. So for 1-inch blocks, get 6-1/4".

.. thanks for clarifying, the accompanying literature for the bolts mentions: "they can be cut after intallation for a custom look'

    have fun
