460 - Welcome to the board. I'd like to see pics too. And just in case you're looking for another Comet I know of a '76 with low miles that's for sale in the Hat. PM me if you're interested or know anyone else who's looking.
Thanks guys. I made some passes in 2003 at Medicine Hat's 1/4 mile and ran a best ET of 12.95 and best MPH of 108.53. I had just fired the fresh motor and broke the cam in, then went for an hour long cruise the night before the races. The car had no tuning done, I didn't even check the timing. Also, it was pretty hot out (35C) I had a borrowed 750DP that leaked more gas out of the throttle shafts than what went down the intake. The Offy dual port POS intake is another story. Totally mismatched with my 292H/.560" Comp Cam. I was running el-cheapo 4.10's that I bought from a guy here and a used 3500 stall that started turning the tires at 1200 rpm. My slicks were 10 years old and hardly bit at all. Also, in the 7 years I've had the car, my old stock 460 only ever twisted off one axle, then the new motor broke the 4.10's. Didn't know til I got my exhaust put on (couldn't hear the death noises!) Other than that she's taken all the abuse I've given it. Them little 8 inches are tougher than people think! Later dudes! -Caseman.
WOW ! 108 MPH with them shock towers , or should I say lack there of ! How does the car do at them speeds ?
Everything is good till you hit the brakes. It's got manual front discs and rear drums that are all stock and it's a little tricky to bring down from speed, especially with our short shutdown. Other than that, it handles surprisingly mediocre hahaha!
