Would you opt for a Reproduction Comet Hood Ornament or run your Comet without?.... keep in mind, while I do not know what the final cost would be it they were reproduced, it would be a fair guess it could cost as much as $150 each.

I prefer to run my vehicles without emblems.

I voted to run without emblems, but when my car finally does see paint, I am not doing a restoration. I have some custom graphics in mind.

I have had enough hood emblems pass through my hands to know that if they are half-decent, they are hard to come by. Either the bezel is pitted/chrome blistering or the lens is faded, or both. I was working on a way to repaint the lenses. It has to be done from the back side. I have not found anything that will strip them back to clear plastic.

The emblem holes in Hotrock's hood are filled. I like it that way.

The lines of the hood look cleaner without the emblem.

I think the front end looks longer without the emblem.... very noticeable something is missing...IMO.

    Same here.

If openings were not filled and I was looking at a scruffy emblem, I'd probably feel differently.
