Started ordering parts today. Been selling extra motorcycle parts and the bike is at a local auto auction. Decided to go that way because I hate dealing with low balling jerks that want your stuff for half the asking price. It sells Tuesday and I get a check the following Wednesday. That's when the serious parts start getting ordered!

I still have an electrical issue that shuts the car down after a few seconds of running. I put a volt meter on the coil, started the car, and still had 12v when it shut down. I called Pertronix to see what they had to add. The tech said for me to look inside the distributer, see if the module had any obvious burning or charring, which was a no. The coil, a potted Pertronix Flame Thrower ll, was cool to the touch. Tech said I had a bad coil, so I have one ordered, and see if this fixes this issue. Stay tuned!

IMG_7022.JPG Drove my car to a local car show and talked to quite a few people about it. Needless to say the only Maverick there. In front of it were my friend's GTO (he's had it for 55 years) and another friend's '54 Studebaker (with supercharged GM V6 for power). The blue Mach 1 is another friend's car.

Well, received my new coil, to no avail. Called Pertronix again, and got the procedure for testing the module in my Flame Thrower distributer. He stayed with me as I tested the module, and the test failed in spectacular fashion, having Ov for the key on test (minimum is 8v), and the cranking test (also 8v). I ordered my new module, along with new cap and rotor. Hopefully this get this turd up and running. If not, well, have to go another direction.

Hi Earl, what did you have for ignition setup before going to this setup and why did you change? Hope all is well; I am winding down from the weekend at the 26th. Roundup.

Bought a donor car for some power features. Picked up a 95 Cougar and pillaged it for the power mirrors, windows, locks, trunk release, electric fan, wiper delay module and possibly the cruise control. I was also going to pull the instrument panel/dash to see if I could make the HVAC work in my car but it smells worse than anything I can describe in it so I may not go there. I was also going to grab the rear disc setup but need to look it over, I forgot they had IRS. Would love to grab the power seats but they smell like decomposing animals and are in sad shape. Got it for 250 since it didn't run, the guy ran it out of oil so I put some in and it fired right up. Doesn't run great but it's going to scrap anyway so who cares!

Windows for sure, I'll adapt the motors to the Maverick refulators as others have done. The mirrors are a maybe, there was a guy working on this with a set of T-bird mirrors but I never saw the outcome. He was working on mounting the mirror motors in the facroty sport mirror housings. The car was cheap enough I figured why not give it a shot.
