Get this. It is a yellow 302 auto with the floor shifter. It has A/C and the rear window defroster. The interior looks almost new and the seats are perfect. When I asked about the car the woman who owned it said it was beieg parted out! And she wanted $800! She said it had been hit in the rear and the motor ran like crap. I looked at the damage and it diddnt look so bad so I fired it up and it barely idled, misfired and backfired. I still wanted it and bought it the next day. I got it home by driving it and it was totally gutless and backfired alott. Well the funny part is I gave it a tune up and plug wires and discovered that the number 7 and 8 plugwires were reversed. I switched them and wham! smooth as it was when new! It has all its power back and romps along at 80 down the freeway. The body damage will cost $500 to fix so I think I got a good deal. What do you guys think? Oh everything that the car came with is there and working right down to the hub caps and trim rings.
I do plan to modify it with ported Windsor heads RPM 4-BBL intake Demon 650 and a complete exhaust with headders. Also thinking of switching to a 9" and toploader later on but standard tranny Maverick parts are hard to find. If anyone has what I need for sale I would like to hear from you.........Thanks.

It is in fact that the 1971 Grabber is "THE" best looking of them all,(maybe because I have 3 of em)

    '72 dammit!!! LOL!!!
Did the '71 have the sport lamps in the grill? I can't remember. What's the difference besides the stripes and perhaps the grill?...

    Show me some PICS!

I agree with everyone that you got a hell of a deal it sounds like. Like someone said, posts some pics if you can.

P.S. I don't agree with them on the best lookin Grabber. It has got to be a 75 Grabber :D with the BIG bumpers the last year made.:(

Small difference between 71 and 72 Grabbers. 71 had a painted hood stripe and two tone side stipes that were reflective. 72 had tape stripe on hood (2 big stripes surrounded by a small pin stripe) and single color stripe on the side...non reflective.

    That's about it.

I like the multicolored side stripes. Really sets it off. I thought the hood design was identical other than 1 was painted & 1 was a decal. Its hard to tell in the brochures I have.
