Hello to all, new member. I recently bought my daughter a 77 Maverick and would like some advice please on some cosmetics.

The dash pad is cracked completely almost in the dead center so I am looking for a replacement. Also, the seats are starting to separate at seams from dry rot and then there is a trim piece around passenger side tail light that needs to be replaced. (pic enclosed of that).

    I would appreciate any help.

Hello and welcome to the forum . As far as the dash pad goes it is a very difficult job to replace the dash pad so and finding an old old uncracked one is hard to do as well, most people buy what is called a dash pad cap which is made of plastic and just goes over the pad but fits very good and looks great you can find them on ebay or from some of the Maverick parts suppliers . Price has gone up a lot but shop around and you may find them cheaper

I would do the dash cap like mentioned before. I am fortunate to have a perfect pad from my car but I know if I am not careful it will probably shatter! I'd bet any good ones left are getting brittle.

I’ve seen people asking outrageous $ for a good dash pad without any cracks. IMHO there’s two types of dash pads, ones with cracks and ones that are going to crack at any moment.

Exactly. Mine has no crack but it is a little sun baked and has very little softness to it. I figure it's a great candidate for a cap.
