I used moog k8157. Did not have the sleeve. I think new kit is an improved design change. K8157 is listed under 70 mustang. And yes taking off was a pain. I cleaned reallllllly good and sloobed with antiseze before putting back on. Ive not gotten an alignment yet.
Used the Moog Set Still need to find a couple 3/4 16 Jam nuts for the Rod End after tightening down. The ol Maverick got New Upper and lower arms, Springs, spring seats, Stabilizer bar, links and of course the strut rod Bushings. On to the Steering. Thanks
I thought so too. double checked instructions. The washers actually have "This side towards rubber stamped in them. The back side washers are cupped and stamped also and they cup the rubber bushing.
I actually put them on that way first. Seemed to make the most sense. This is a Moog k8157 kit and instructions. Where your washers stamped in the metal "this side toward rubber" and "this side toward front" ?
Yeah, looks weird, makes me question the instructions and stamping. ike72com has the same Moog kit and his are turned around. He posted a picture and I dont see the stamping on his.
You wouldnt happen to have the instructions for your kit or take a look at the ones Ive posted. Are the rear washers on yours cupping the bushing also or just the front ones you show in your photo? I have the larger washers on the back and smaller on the front. They came as one piece (The bushings dont come apart from the washer). Instructions I have are opposite of what I would have done. and the note as to the front of the car may be wrong? Opinion or advice welcome. Might try to see if Moog has support for their products. Thanks
This is the back side of mine. Just like in attachment. Think that washer is glued to the washer. 2 piece in box.
