I have a 72 maverick and my transmission went bad. I took out the transmission but forgot to take pictures as I went to remember the process. Does anyone have any pictures of the transmission mounted or anything that would help me?

Important thing to remember is to install convertor fully. When bolting up make sure trans and engine is fully seated without binding. Flywheel convertor hole/bolt lined up. Everything else can be figured out. Or ask a specific question.

    agree...
"Important thing to remember is to install converter fully."
don't pull transmission up with the bolts. it should slide on by hand if the converter is seated all the way.
    don't ask me how I know...:slap:

if rebuilt ask the builder what fluid type to use...:yup:

Why do you think. Should I buy a transmission of someone or get mine rebuilt?

Been there done that. Never trust another man used trans unless you trust and know that man!

If your current trans just started slipping, rebuild is the way i,ll go.

how many miles on the converter that's in it now? most shops want warranty a rebuild without a new converter. the old one will have metal and clutch dust in it. from my understanding without cutting the converter open there is no way to clean this out.
I would suggest calling a converter company and they will ask you a few questions. Edge converters is my choice.

    HP of engine
    torque of engine
    rear gear ratio
    weight of car
    street or strip car
    may be more...

Frank is right on with convertor info.

I have an edge in mustang and love the 3500 stall.

For your car and cam If you,re planning on burning any rubber then a higher stall around 2500 is the way to go!

If you need explanation on how the higher stall e/a ffect performance just ask.
