Rear end

    Have a 71 comet straight 6 looking for a 8 inch rear end 5 lug with drum brakes,what can I get it out of that would fit.

    Any 2 or 4 door Maverick or Comet with the 8" would be the best donor as it would be a perfect fit. Anything else like the Granada or early Mustang is slightly wider and will limit your wheel choices. There seems to be a lot of parts cars out there on the west coast so you should be able to find one fairly easy.

    When I first put the V8 in my car I ran an 8" from a '66 Mustang, was only something like 1/4" wider on each side than a Maverick rear. Still have it in my shed. Shame you aren't closer, I'd give it away to a good home.
