i have a 76 ford maverick that had the 250 inline in it i jut dropped in a 1968 302 ive been told i cant use my current power steering pump from the 250 is this true? im also having an issue finding the correct brackets to mount it anyway ...what are you guy using for brackets and steering pump? i dont want to delete the power steering as some recommended..any help woud be appreciated
Which side of vehicle is the water pump inlet located? A '68 will have passenger side lower hose, while '70-newer has it on driver side. Different brackets are required. As far as P/S pump, all bolt up same, pulleys & hose connections differ. I doubt 6 vs 8 hoses will interchange. For reference here's the '67-'69 setup, bracket on pump is aluminum(I don't think I'd trust that pump). These brackets also fit big block so are usually expensive. Bracket for '70 up is steel, they do not interchange. Adapter brackets that bolt pump bracket to water pump are different as well. https://www.ebay.com/itm/134150913512?hash=item1f3c047de8:g:Ha0AAOSwuM5ir5x1
