Hello, I am an Australian living in Canada. I just purchased a 1973 2 door v8 Maverick. I plan to restore it for pro street/shows. Hello to everyone & look forward to learning a lot of stuff!! Welcome. Before you invest much money in your new ride do a thorough inspection for rust. Perform a water test on the inside of the cowl, a problem rust area for our vehicles. Best of luck with your project!
Hi, sorry about the slow reply! Thanks heaps for the info. My first one I saw was basically rusted from floor all the way- the entire underside for $4k he wanted. No panel was solid everything was “holy”. Skipped that & got this yellow one. Original owner no mods no holes extremely solid body. Usual rust in rear quarters and due to snow usually all along the underside. I will be completely stripping the body of everything to bare metal & tig welding & sheet metal everything to new myself so we are ok for any rust problems. My only question is- can someone please direct me to a thread on bolt sizes? I am getting the Milwaukee insider extended reach ratchet to save time in tight spaces & have not had time to check on whether these are imperial or metric bolt heads for the majority of the car? TIA james
