I got a 78' Econoline 150 van for 50 bucks! has a 300 I6, C6, and 9' rear. Believe it or not, I have been using it for parts for the Maverick! Stuff like bolts, nuts, cables, things like that will interchange. Carb works but is to tall to clear the Mav's hood.

Had been sitting for 15 years when I got it, put some gas in it and did NOTHING else and it fired right up and drives!

Smokes like a freight train though.

Yes! too poor to get it done right... i've done better jobs with gloss paint tho...the van i did in primer about 4 years ago...

jamie... are the front springs on that van shortened? if they are.... do you want to get rid of or sell them? i've been looking for shorter springs for my van, because i do not know where to cut mine, and i don't think my dremel thing will do it....

To be honest, I'm not sure what has been done to the van. The way I understand it, it was a fleet vehical for some power company when it was new, then it belonged to a construction buisness, then it was an ambulance/emergency vehical for a dirt race car track for many years. No tellin' whats been done to it.

The springs could just be wore out? The van supposedly has well over 600,000 miles on it. The torque converter is very dead. It can be extreamly hard to start it at times... We used it for a big gokart for a couple of summers in my grandpa's fields. :)

Me and my brother have often talked about what it would be like to drop a 429 4V engine my grandpa has in it and go blow off a few ricers. :bananaman How funny would that be? It does have front disc brakes.

That 9 inch is comeing out before to long. (y)

There seems to be somthing missing from the engine.......or maybe that's to reduce the weight of the car?? Just kidding. You definatly have a good starting point. Good Luck! Preston
