I like what you've got going with that valance. It updates the look but it's sensitive to the lines of the car. I'm interested in where you go with it.

Only editorial comment, I think you're going to want to fill in part of that area somehow. If it's exactly what you want from it, then don't let me tell you not to build it that way. It just looks like a lot to me.

IMG_0746.jpeg IMG_0750.jpeg Went from styrofoam board to metal. It’s looking better. But Jaybee, I see what you mean, I’ll have to figure something out about all that extra space.

Maybe take the outer ends of the valance you were working on and put it inside the outer openings of the splitter-style one? Or at least slip some curved poster board into those ducts to see if you like the looks.

This is the only custom Maverick valance that ever looked good to Me...

Is that an upside down front valance?

No, there is a custom airdam under the valance. I like how the '69 Camaro park lamps were integrated into the Maverick valance...

I changed direction again and went with a simple route for now. I’ll have to add some metal on the sides and reinforce the chin spoiler. I like it. IMG_0799.jpeg

I went to the drag strip last night and made 3 passes on street tires before putting on some slicks. 1st time on slicks, 1st time using burn out box, lol. I am such a newb. Car left so hard (2 second 60' vs 2.6) it felt like the skin on my face fell off. I shifted to 2nd (C4) but ended up in drive cuz column shift and I was discombobulated, then shifted itself to 3rd way too soon, but the slicks need balancing and started to shake things up.....so I went through the trap at 90 for a 14.18. I know its not a barn burner, but thats what I did and it was fun. I was satisfied and went home after that.
