I just called AZ to see if they carry a radiator for Mav's, and they do. Has anyone used one of these? Are they a direct bolt in? Do they cool well?

    Thanks,

A buddy bought one about 4 years ago for his 73 w/302 and it bolted right up and is still going strong.

They fit and work as well as an original. I just replaced my Autozone radiator that has been in the car for 9 years. When I first bought it, it was around $130 with a lifetime warranty. I have replaced it twice, once for a crack from a rock 9 years ago and the agaon last month because it was plugged up. Now if you buy it they are over $300

Most of the ones you buy at parts stores are actually made by Go-Dan industries I believe it's called. Not too bad as far as quality goes. Just make sure you pull the radiator out of it's box BEFORE you leave the parts store to inspect it for bent fins/broken tubes/tanks, etc. Once you get it home & fill it, it's yours no matter what shape it's in.

I bought a good one from my local Parts Plus store for 193.95. Fits great! They told me the brand was SPI industries.

    Afco radiator

The picture shows the mounting bolts on the side. Is that the same as the one you bought? Did you have to come up with some new brackets?

You will need to fabricate new brackets when converting to a crossflow radiator. I made a set of saddle type mounts that attach to the stock locations. Radiator tanks set down in the sandles and I have one clamp at the top that attaches to the core support.
