I am wanting to change my transmission fluid, but I dont see a way to do it. I have a 72 Mav, with a 200, C4 transmission. Has anyone done this or just know how? Thanks!

If the pan does'nt have a drain plug go out and buy one before you start. Then you need to start looesening the pan bolts , once all are loose pry the pan loose with the bolts still holding it up. Let the fluid drain some, then loosen the bolts more on one end so the pan lowers down draining more fluid. Once enough has drained out you can carefully remove and dump the pan. remove the trans. filter and replace. New pan gasket. Add the new drain plug to the pan. The torgue convertor should have a drain plug on it to drain the fluid from it.

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
and if your changing the filter be aware when as soon as you pull if off a spring and ball bearing will fall out.. so watch for it!

    very important for two reasons..

one wondering what fell into your drain pan and not putting it back in.

two trying to find a ball bearing and spring in tranny fluid.

also you might wanna be aware how bad the fluid is now. not that is is but sometimes chainging to new fluid in a already bad tranny will make things worse depending on how bad your fluid and tranny is... (hum did i just repeat myself? oh well it is late :D )
