Well, I can only speak for mine. This one was tapped out sometime back around 1978 and has been gone back through 3 times since. Never had any problems. I have been told that some of the later blocks are a little thinner so they might not be good candidates. This is the original 71 block still in this car.
My motor is tore down right now and I found one of the bolts for the 351W head to 302 block...These are from ARP as a kit and you can see the washer that slides through the bolt to make up for the larger size hole on the head.
