You need them welded on with the car setting on it's on wheels. Otherwise the body will flex differently depending on the weight being supported by the wheels or on stands on the frame. Same effect as if you tighten the bolts on your lower and upper A-arms with the wheels in the air or on the ground. Preloads the suspension differently.

Common wisdom says to do it with the tires on the ground, but I don't think it matters too much as long as the frames not twisted.

When you weld, the cleaner the metal the easier it is. I wouldn't worry about them falling off unless you do a totally horrible job at welding. It will probably look ugly, but should still be strong. Those wire feeds work good on thick metal like subframe connectors, not so good on the thin stuff like body sheetmetal. They produce a lot of heat. Make sure to remove the carpet or you might have a fire.

If they are the square tubing. Working off memory here; like 2 1/2 inch by 1/2 or 3/4 inch. They might be the ones Rudy Bidlack is selling. If anyone is interested I can give his e-mail addy......:hmmm: OR you could join the MCCI and read his classified in the bi-monthly newsletter! :D

ok when you weld up the subframe connectors....they mount to the forward leaf spring bolt correct?

and then they weld to where at on the frame?

and will the traction bars get in the way of the subframe connectors?

    thanks

    just something i was wondering
