Recent purchase of 1976 Maverick has brought me on. It is a Strong Street/Strip car that runs low 12's and Commands attention driving around. It has been an old school type Bracket car and is rust Free...Biggest problem it gives me is crawling in and out through 6 pt. roll cage. I had not really looked much at the Maverick in my past 56 years but this one caught my attention by it's great looks. Runs a 1968 302 block .030 with a few goodies, C-4 with high stall and a Ford 9 inch/4:86 gear. Anyway, I am so happy with my Maverick that I wanted to tell everyone. Anyone know the weight of a Maverick? I am anxiously awaiting the Racing season as all mentioned info is from previous owner. I want to start my own chapter. Wishing everyone great weather! A Proud owner.......Paul

Howdy and :Welcome: As far as weight, the answers seem to vary as much as colors. Best thing to do is find a local truck stop. Most of them have scales that you can get your car weight at.

welcome aboard.:Welcome: i weighed mine recently at the track, was 2700. i run low 12's with mine. best so far was 11.96 at firebird in phoenix. i run 4:33 gears in the rear and go through the traps at about 7200 rpm. what do you go through with 4:86's. that seems pretty steep to me. what size tires?:)

Thanks for show of support to everyone. Yes 4.86 does sound steep but I'm awaiting confirmation of this from previous owner. The tires are Hoosier Quicktimes and are 26 inches tall...P275/60 D 15's. I'll know what my rpm is at sometimes in May. I've posted a request in the Drag Race forum. Have a look. Thanks.....Paul

I have 275-60-15s on my mav also... the tire and rim are 28 in tall... manufacturer says so also... this makes it a little easier on the engine with the tall tires:2cents:
