  Like every car I own broke down this month too..........
At least I am a mechanic and can fix the crap myself. Anyway the badmav cracked the frt pump on the c4 trans I am starting to think I understand why my second gear was holding out to 6k instead of the usual 5500 rpm. I pulled it out and we will see how good COANS custumer service. I have bought 3 trans from them and this is the first problem. I might just step up to a full manual valve body if they will take this one back. less than 5k on it. Just my kinda luck "BAD"

Had similiar problems years back, everytime we went to the track with the Mav, lost a transmission. Rebuilding the c4 was easy part, but getting it in and out with headers and such was a pain. Finally put in a manual valve body and that was the end of it. Still use the same valve body in my Fairmont, got to be ten or twelve years of use on it. Run over three hundred passes a year and never pull the tranny until end of season freshening time. Change fluid and filter regularly and adjust the bands is all.

Think of it as continuing quest to having the bullet proof combination. Bummmer!

On the bright side it's under warranty and you found the weak link...the quest for a bulletproof setup is an expensive proposition...at least it happened now and not on a holeshot at the Roundup:D

ya i had 6020 miles on my C4 when it fried. from the metal and junk in the pan i don't even want to know. and yes pulling that mess from between headers sucks. good luck. my new tranny just arrived. hopefully weather clears to work on er.
