Is it feasible to take out a Bench Seat in a 74 Mav & replace with Buckets? If so, how difficult is it?
    Thanks, Mike

Piece of cake ... as long as you follow some important things:

    1) Make sure they are Maverick Buckets and include Maverick Tracks

    2) a 71-74 Maverick must use 71-74 Maverick seats/tracks

    3) a 75-77 Maverick must use 75-77 Maverick seats/tracks

    4) 1970 Mavericks didn't have buckets - none will easily bolt in.

If you do not follow these rules fabrication will be required and forget what I said about being a piece of cake.

Thanks for that info! Can the installation be made to look pretty close to factory?

It will be exactly like factory if you follow the above checklist ...

    what if

what if i want buckets, but already swapped a freshly reupolsterd 70 bench into a 71 body. and junked the 71 bench:hmmm:

also how do i modify the frame of the 70 rearbench to fit the lower clips on a 71. i don't like my rope (out of sight but not mind).

maybe i should leave well enough alone.

70/71 rear seats should be interchangeable. 72/77 rear seats interchange as well.

Not sure what you mean about swapping out a bench already ... You do not use any parts from the bench to install buckets.

I managed to replace my bench seat with buckets in my 70 mav but I used the seats and tracks out of a 92 mustang I did have to add some spacers at the inside corners of tracks to level seats and drill new bolt holes but looks much sportier.
