I'm not saying where this car is at, because it will be Friday or Satruday before I can go pick it up. But anyways, I was up visiting with some old friend yesterday and 2 houses down a guy was out in his driveway working on a cheby van. I guess he saw our Mav sitting there and he yelled over "hey, come over here, I got one of those." Got over there and he said if I find someone to haul off an old Cheby truck (sitting next to it) that I could have the Maverick for free. :bananaman It runs (not very well) and was last driven in January of this year. Has a 250 I6, and the whole front end was rebuilt less then 1,000 miles ago (and you can tell, everything under there looks new). The guy told me his parents bought it new for 3,000 in 1973 and he learned how to drive in it, but it just needs to much work now and he needs the space in his driveway. The front suspenion and bumpers are going on our 74' Grabber. Not sure what I'm going to do with the rest of it, probably part it out.
free find how about the steering wheel Jamie dibs on that if its nice what kind of hood ornament is that it looks like a bike lol thanks ron
looks like a nice light weigth version,.... i wonder how much cancer is on it, the hood looks bad.... good job on that though.....i guess any find like that is a great find... and most people can afford free...
Yea, the guy told me that hood ornament was custom made at wal-mart for $157.99 Ok, so which one of you GA guys is gonna come over and help me turn it in to this? http://mmb.maverick.to/attachment.php?attachmentid=9994 Ron, I'll let ya know about the steering wheel. I believe it was pretty nice. The hood and grill are not worth their weight in scrap I would say. I figgure you can't beat free, and it has a good transmission we need.
Ride a few more of those $157.99 hood ornaments over the roof and it will start looking like the one in the picture.
Free is always a good thing. parts are parts. new front end worth about $200 and a tranny another$200 so your $400 ahead of the game. Have fun. Russ
Tylar and myself could probably get that chopped look real quick. Just park the car at the end of the house and Tylar and I will jump off the roof and land, butt first, on the roof. That should give it that chopped and lowered look.
Hey, congrats on the score!! Looks like there's several good things to be had off of it!! Preston P.S.- I bet the biker was some PO'd..............
