I have a 73 Maverick with the tan LDO interior. I want to paint my badly faded interior panels.

Any suggestions on where I can get the paint that would match the rest?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

California Mustang has Ford Factory Interior Paint. I bought some from them for my '73 Mav with Medium Ginger interior.

They get $9.95 per rattle can.

They're on the web at: www.cal-mustang.com.

    Regards,

Is that the proper name for the tan interior? I was looking on that site and that seems to be the closest thing.

    Hi again,

The best thing would be to check your ID plate on the driver's door to check the "Color" code in the lower left hand corner (next to the "Body" code).

Once you have that, you can go the VIN decoder at the Ford Maverick Page and this will give you the official name for your interior color code.

For my Standard Cloth and Vinyl Bench, my color code is BF - Medium Ginger.

Looking at the VIN Decoder for 1973 it looks like the color code PU equals Light Tan - Luxury Decor Option.

And, you are correct, I don't see Light Tan offered by California Mustangs. The only explanation I can come up with is that this interior color was not offered on Mustangs. Sorry for raising false hopes.

    I hope this helps!

    Regards,
