I need 3.80 or similar, may go as low as 3.5 or as high as 4.11, for Ford 8" rear. I currently have 2.79, great for highway use, crap for strip. Would trade or buy your gears for decent price/deal. I also have some parts left over from other Mav projects, I would be willing to trade.

Or, could you recommend where to find cheap gears.

I am going to try them, and may not like them, and don't want to pay full price for something I might yank back out and replace.

Come on guys...I see 11 views so far, but no replies. Where can I buy used or cheap gears? Hi-Lo drew a blank. I guess their books don't cross-reference that low of a gear with Mavericks.

What you are looking for can't be bought "cheap".

I don't know of a source for used gears. I would be cautious
    about using used gears.

Autokrafters used parts has several 3.70 center sections for $200. Isn't that the entire yoke, ring, pinion assembly? It would be nice to have a 3.70 and a 2.79 to swap out as needed.

I looked for a while (6-8 months) and gave up. I bought new 4.11 locally for $200 and tax.

rx, how is your 4.11 set up, and how is it working? What size tires, and do you use it highway at all? What are RPMs at 70, approx?

Frank, that was a 9" he had at Autokrafters. He only had 2.79, 3.00, and 3.25 for 8". How would 3.25 be on the track. Sounds more like a highway gear. Would I see much better improvements going from 2.79 to 3.25, or would I still be too slow off the line?

Approx what RPM would 3.25 and 245/60r15 tires give me at 70mph?

I have a 3.00 gear, and I run 3,000 rpm at 70 mph. Not good for racing, but about 20mpg on the highway.
