"The '73 Grabber is at its new residence. Thanks to Frank and Effie. Thanks to Earl for taking me down to Frank's place to fetch". :bananaman i will say this for terry..."he ain't skeered" ...he came and picked up the mav. and earl said he was doing 80 mph up interstate 75 N. (50 + miles). glad the car got a good home...frank...
It's not that I "ain't skeered," it's that the lights to the instrument panel didn't work and I was just driving with the flow of traffic. I didn't know how fast I was going until Earl called from home to see how close I was to my house. I told him that was the smoothest riding Maverick I had ever driven. He said, "I guess so; you were running 80 mph the whole way." It is a very good car. I've posted a link to some pics I took this evening. I have a gorgeous set of blue bucket seats and matching back seat, with cloth inserts, to go in the car. I'll post pics as I redo the interior. Great car, Frank. Glad you took it and made it available. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/thehawkco/album?.dir=/f37d&.src=ph&.tok=ph4Fp_CBrRPqZmCi
Terry , I went out to Franks and looked the car over the other day ,and YES I think its definately a good`un . It`s very good that Frank was able to show off his unbelievable will power to NOT start working on it while it was at his house and end up keeping it! I don`t think I could have parted with it Im also glad that he picked it up and made it available to someone who will take care of it Keep us posted on your progress!
The compressor works and it blows inside the cab, but not cold. I'm going to have it flushed, new o-rings, etc., and have it charged up; hopefully with R-134. I plan to drive this one, possibly daily. I'm working on putting in matching bucket seats and back seat that are blue with cloth inserts. I'll put in a new headliner and replace the windshield and back glass gaskets. I need to replace the fan belts, do a valve on the heads, and put ina Petronix. That should do it. Doesn't need much else. It's an excellent car. Oh, it needs a paint job, but after evrything else.
Congrats on the car ... Looks like you stole another one from Frank ... but ,then again, I'm sure he made a couple of bucks on this one - he isn't crazy enough to do that twice!
