    Cool

Way to go it's great to see a ford kicking some but at the track. Were you cutting some good lights? I don't think there is any feeling like winning it is such a rush.

way to go fordman. i won the first team race at firebird this year. went to the second race last night. felt good about it. had 2 good time trials and lights of .032and .030. 1st run, spun bad and headed right towards the wall. engine quit at the top end. dialed an .89 and ran .95. havent had the nerve to look at the engine yet. hope it's not too bad. anyway good luck.keep it going.;)

    Way to Go!

I'll have to come see you run sometime (about 1 hour away from HRP).

What's the deal with the 'new' lights? What's different and why do you like them over the conventional ones?

    Congrats again,

    Rick

while the chevy 350 used to be the only option for going fast witha v8,

The last 15 years or so have showed the Generic Motor guys that their 350 is nothing special, and we can do it with less cubes.

    Keep up the good work!

whats the deal with the new lights

They used to run incandescent lights, now they have switched to LED. The difference to the racers is that the LED actually illuminates quicker, by about three hundredths of a second, than the incandescent lights do. So if you are good on the tree, you need to slow down a tick or you will "bottom bulb", but if you previously was a little slow on the tree, these lights will help your reaction time. The main reason for the switch is that when the Top Fuel cars run, the vibration is so bad that the incandescent lights would not last long. And also when running a sportsman tree the failure is more fequent with the old style lights, so NHRA installed the LED for longivity and less maintenance.

I can only cheer-lead the Fords on right now (putting Cal-Tracs on this week - new converter - next - exhaust next, on and on and on....)

Intresting on the LED's. I hadn't heard about them (I live under a rock in my garage).

Keep up the good work and let us know how the next event goes.

    Rick
