 Today was a bad day because I introduced my mav to a telephone pole. Lucky I hit it sideways so I only did damage to the fender and hood. It's amazing, I didn't hurt my bumper, grill, headlight, wheel...nothing. The alignment is still perfect.....I hit it in just the perfect spot that all I did was damage my fender which folded over and damaged the hood.

So, since the other fender was slightly damaged when I bought the car, I figured since I am doing everything else, I would just replace it too.....

I need both fenders and a hood.

I'm in NJ, so driving distance would be nice since shipping would be insane for such large parts...

Maybe Dennis(Mavaholic) down in MD has some things I can use, I am gonna be headed that way in 2 weeks!

So if anyone in NY, NJ, PA, MD, DE, or northern VA has anything....please let me know.

    Thanks guys!

    Steve

wow, sorry to see that. how did you hit the pole like that or shouldn't i ask. guess i'll have to report you since i used to work for nj bell. J/K. glad it didn't do any more damage than that. at least it's bolt on stuff mainly. hurts the pocketbook though.

I just got tyhe fender and even my lower valance is perfect! Amazing, It hit right in the perfect spot!

I hit the pole sliding sideways....some jerk pulled out in the middle of the road and the car 3 cars in front of me locked up the tires and skidded and the guy behind him didnt stop in time, and then the car in front of me skidded into oncoming traffic. So I had no other place to go but the soft shoulder. Once the car hit the dirt and grass it just went sideways right into the pole......

And I'm happy to say there was no damage to the pole....just a little green paint:)

Glad your OK. Really lucked out on the damages.

It is a shame that the person that caused it doesn't have to pay for the damages. You can try to go after him but since you didn't make contact with anyone other than the pole the liabilty will likely fall onto you. They will claim you didn't have control of your vehicle.

I know scott....last night I went for a nice hour and a half drive down to the shore. It was running perfect. I replaced the points, cap, and rotor on sunday....got the timing perfect. She was idling amazing!

I may have to make an early trip to your favorite little salvage yard in PA.

I have 2 sets of back ups with the LDO trim.....2 extra driver side and one extra passenger side LDO trim.

I bought a set a few months back on ebay for 15 bucks:) I'm all about buying the little things "just in case"....just never thought I would need the whole fender!

    glad yer ok!!!!!

and imo you did have control of vehical, so as to avoid hitting other cars!!

mavs can be tricky in emergency manuvers (i've spun 360 between gaurd rails on 2 car wide I-29 (6"-10" to spare)) , YOU DID WELL. got a hood with one small (but difficult dent) DIRT cheap, other than shipping from SD just an offer. by the sound and look of it, YOUR CAR IS A LIVING ENTITY AND LOVES YOU. while my fenders are off, i sandblasted and reundercoated. thought about that??

    good luck

Yea, already getting ready to clean and undercoat. And I figured it would be real easy to put disk brakes in with no fenders:)

I got a good lead on both fenders and a hood....hoping it works out, but still looking!
