I got tired of finding Maverick grill badges for $80+ on e-bay. So, living in Texas, I thougt I could go to a cowboy shop and get a flat stained steel cutout of a longhorn bull head to put over my currently empty round space on my grill. I have seen them for years, but never thought of buying them for my grill. Yesterday, I thought of it, but couldn't find the heads. I bought this. It is not quite MAVERICK, but closer than the Texas A&M emblem I have had for the past few months.

Do other mav owners accept? If not, I will live with it for a while, as it only cost less than $10.

I am thinking of painting the star and head chrome, just to make it stand out against the black background. What do you guys think?

    Aeon,

I would like a stock emblem, but they run up to $80+ on e-bay. If you want decent money for it, put it on sale there. If you want to give it away for cheap, I will buy it. But, keep in mind, I don't mind doing things others think is passe, such as wide rear tires, side pipes, bolt-on traction bars, primer grey paint jobs, and shackles and air shocks. I don't really care what MavMan and TL think are appropriate. I am building the car that I wanted to build when I was in high school but couldn't afford to, because my family lived in a trailer in backwoods Dayton, Texas. Have you seen King of the Hill? That was upper high class society compared to where I grew up. I now live somewhere above that, but not by much, and I make the money where I can now build the hot rod I always wanted to build.

It's different!! Isn't that what we all strive to achieve. Keep up the good work

Note: 10 years ago no one liked the motorcycles Jesse James was building. Now look at the craze

I love it! I, like you, can't stand to get ripped off for parts just to make it look like everyone elses. There's nothing wrong with going cheap either. I made my grill center out of the horns of a Maverick emblem that I cut apart. I applaud your creativity and your willingness to try something different, just as a true Maverick would. Keep those original ideas coming!

    Sam :)

These cars are about being different. Mustangs & Camaros are a dime a dozen. Finding a unique Maverick or Comet, priceless....
    Go for it....

I chromed it yesterday, looks much better now. Shines in the sunlight, and looks more like a bull, less like a goat, and less "satanic". The chrome on the black circle background really stands out...
