Those Magnums are georgeous! I have the slots myself, I think 10's front-13's rear, cant remember. I need center caps too so dont laugh when I get my pics posted.(hopefuly this weekend, may need u guys to help with that)
favorite wheel for me all depends on the build style of the vehicle, I've got lots of favorites from halibrands to centerlines, (just naming a few, too many to list) just depends on the look you are going for. (in my opinion)
Wheels 'I know they are american racing. They arnt like the chrome ones. They have an aluminum ring and have like cast spokes that are etched.' But they look really good on the mav They are often referred to as Daisy wheels, or Snowflake Americans. Seth
I'm trying to decide the same for my 72 - narrowed down to Magnum 500's (stock but still tuff) or Slots (got that nostalgia muscle look) or a set of Centerline Telstars which are more modern, almost like a Weld Pro Star/Drag Star. I had seen these slot type wheels on ebay and photoshoped 'em on the car... I think they would look sweet. Haven't seen tham on a Mav yet.
Stock: Magnum 500's or steels with flat FMC dog dish caps and rings Old school: American Torq-Thrusts, American 200's, polished slots. Modern: 17" Mustang "Bullitts" or Cobra R's
anything as long as it looks right and its tasteful on the car! more importantly.. i'd want something that isn't dated (unless its to the time period of the car) also as long as everyone and there mom don't have them on their car. ie: stand out from the crowd be differant... thats what gonna get you noticed.
I've been thinking about getting the 67 Shelby Mag Stars, they look good on Mustangs, should look even better on Mavericks. Old school, but I've never seen a set on anything other than a 67 Shelby.
I've seen them on e-bay too.Does anyone here have some? They kinda look like the old Halibrands. They usually have a buy it now for $325,$75 to ship for a whole set.Pick your sizes too-from 15x4-15x8.$400 for a set of new aluminum wheels delivered seems real tempting.
The taste of this message board,, and from what I see from this aspect of the hobby runs very very old school. I like anything that is done well. My personal taste is to keep my car current with todays style. However, I am not like that in life, I buck what is popular. But my car taste's do tend to reflect what is popular now. My favorite wheel will always be the Cragar S/S.. I still have my set that I got for high school graduation in 1975. Had a dude ask me to sell him them last weekend,,,,,,,,hahahahahaha Dan
