Just turned it on -- CDT -- 10:30 today -- Discovery channel. Quotes -- "The murder vehicle was a green Maverick..." "Although the Maverick hasn't been manufactured since 1977 -- a surprising number were registered in the area." "Every green Maverick within 60 miles was found, stopped and the owners interviewed..." Hope this isn't a repost... just found it interesting...
Reminds me of a time about 28 years ago when I was driving my 71 green Grabber. I was pulled over by our local police and asked where I was on the day before at a certain time. I knew the officer and he seemed to believe me but he still asked me to follow him to the station. He said they needed to ask me some more questions. Once I got there they asked me if they could look through my car while I was inside and I said sure...heck, I had nothing to hide. Still not knowing what it was all about they sent me into a questioning room with a detective. First thing he asked was "Son, do you know why you are here"? I replied with "No sir but I certainly would like to". This is scary stuff when you're only 19 years old. Anyway, after getting finger printed and about 20 minutes of questioning where I was and what I was doing the day before he finally seemed to believe me. He finally told me that a girl had been raped and told police the guy drove a green Maverick. Some of the cops already didn't like me because I was young and stupid and did a lot of street racing. Talk about being scared sh**less. Anyway, I guess they checked my story and everything was okay because I never heard anything else from them. I even had to refasten the back seat back down in my car...glad they didn't find any of my good drugs (just kidding). Don't even know if they ever caught the guy that really did it. Very traumatic.
