Whats the best way to adjust rockers that are fully adjustable and have hydralic lifters everyone tells me to just turn the nut down untill theres zero lash and sung it down an extra 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn. Now can anyone give me a bit more detailed step by step of how to do this.

Make sure the lifter is on the base of the cam lobe for each valve you are adjusting, valve in fully closed position. Rocker arm should have some movement when you wiggle it. Loosen rocker nut then wiggle pushrod up and down, while tightening down on rocker nut until you start to feel some resistance between rod and rocker arm. This will take up the inital slack. Then roll pushrod between thumb and finger while tightening nut until you can't spin push rod. Preload should be set for that valve, then tighten rocker nut 3/4 turn. Depending on which engine you have you can adjust all valves that are on the base of cam at this time. Some manuals will have an illustration to show the corresponding valves for this. Hope this helps!

For hyd I have always used a valve cover with the top cur off. With the engine running loosen the nut until the lifter ticks, then tighten 1/ turn. Scotty P
