Hi everyone. I'm the proud owner of a 1970 maverick. It's equiped with a 306 ci with a c-4 tranny. It spends most of its time at the track. Its best time on the 1/4 is an 11.00 flat at 121.00 mph. on motor. I'm building a new motor for it and want to know if anyone knows where to purchase 1 3/4 " headers for the pee-wee. Thanks Have a great day.

Hooker 6208 is 1 3/4, actually listed for old Mustang but alot of guys are using them with little modification if any, thats the only option other than custom fab.

Seems like the Hooker 6208's are popular (I have them on mine too) .... but you'll also need a set of spacers to go between the heads and headers. I believe there was a much cheaper alternative offering with 1-3/4" primaries that someone posted on here recently. Doing a search on "headers" will probably turn up a zillion threads. Someone else might post up the link to it.

Worst case, if you need more info on the headers and where to get the spacers, gimme a shout.

    ....and welcome to the board.

Yow! 11.00 sec. flat is pretty snappy for a 306. Do you spray that thing?

    I
    love drag racing Mavericks!(y)

By the way, custom made headers are a LAST resort. I build custom headers, and they are E-X-P-E-N-S-I-V-E. In a car like yours, modifying a set is much easier and cheaper.

    11.00 sec. 306

You must really spin that little booger! That's OK... a good 306 will spin like a router.
