Do you need one for a 6 Cyl or 8?

I have one for a 6, if you want it.

I have a Lokar universal cable I bought from Jegs, looks a lot better and works smoother than stock cables.

I thought that the 6 Cyl. throttle cable that I used for a long time was fine..... and it did work fine, until I went to my first car show in Dewey, OK with the mav. I pulled out of the host hotel, and into a turning lane, to go the opposite direction on the highway (it was a divided 4 lane). All was well, until I realized that my throttle stuck at wide open, and wasn't letting off! Here I was, doing this AMAZING burnout, with smoke plooming out of both rear wheelwells (I have the stock "non-posi" rear end), STANDING on the brakes, and my car was inching towards a $40,000+ immaculate '57 Chevy. The Chevy finally turned off, and there was a break in the traffic, so I had the chance to get off of the road, before I turned the key off.

When I got back to the host hotel, a couple of the guys in my buddies '53 Ford club walked up to me and handed me a roll of toilet paper. They did say it was the best burnout they've ever seen..... I told them that it was the last one that I'd ever show them.

When I got back, I immediately bought a V8 Throttle cable MADE FOR A MAVERICK from Scott on this message board.

A throttle cable is NOT something you want to mess around with. It's not something to be "rigged" in my opinion either.

As always, just my :2cents: .

That was the closest I've ever come to needing it, in my 12 years of (legally) driving.
