So, Mitee, I just need to learn to live with it? Maybe the temperature sensing unit to turn it on and off when not needed? It cools great, just sounds like an airplane is flying with me. It really is a big fan, and moves a lot of air. Maybe that is why it is so loud.
Try what Mavaholic suggested, and reverse the polarity, to make it run the opposite direction that it's running now. If it's quieter (and still moving air) then you need to put it on the engine side of the radiator. Remember, that's the way it was meant to be running anyway. Like it or not, Ford Engineers do know something.
I'd would live with it myself, you could put a temp sensor on it also if you like. I'm looking for one like you have now. I think I may have to shave off the guide pin on the front of my water pump though to make it fit. The local yard wants 75.00 for one, and I may get it since it's from a 95 model.
OK guys, I swapped the wires, and it was loud, but not nearly as loud as before, plus, I think I feel more air being pulled through the radiator. So, I guess someone was right and those durned engneerz knew what they were doing. Now, I have to do as Mitee is talking about, and make some room inside the engine compartment to fit it in there. The fan motor hits the pulley from the old fan, and I need to do some serious modifying to the fan shroud and/or the old pulley. Any suggestions/pictures. I need hints on how to free up a 1/2" on the front of the old pulley.
Wiring is fine, moving to inside engine compartment, new thread Need a new thread for help installing thick fan inside engine compartment.
