That great Allan, I'll call him tomorrow... if I could get the body at a good price and blueprints on the frame rail from him and...oh boy.... the gears are a turnin Hey..it may sound crazy but you don't know till you ask.
Seems like the gears are always turning in our heads when it comes to these cars! What about a street driven funny car! Hmmmm
Danny is almost done with the bodies now and will be ready for sale ... for those that are truely committed:evilsmile http://www.classicfunnycarboard.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=1;t=854
Man that is cool but I'm sure way out of my price range when you start talking about the chassis that has to go under it then the motor, tranny, etc.....
he doesnt have a price yet, but going by other classic funny bodies fresh out of the mold you can probably look for around $4000 give or take a few hundred for the body only.
a strecthed flopper...30 grand minimum depending on motor and that's doing alot of it yourself Probably 50 grand with a period correct blown alky Boss big block. I'd like to try and sneak that one by the wife
rick, tell her its research and you need her help and that when you're done you will take her on a nice trip to a tropical location for a reward....
Nostailgia Funny car is a fast growing class with Goodguys. Ron Capps drove Jeff Gaynors car two weeks ago. Dale Pulde was turnin the wrenches. a few top guys from the past are getting involved. The quickest runs so far are 6.14 sec. at over 200 mph. Laborday week end they race in Seattle.
I love all the old Maverick drag racing stories. Here's a local guy who was into Mavericks back in the '70s...I wish I could locate him...he's not in business anymore. http://www.coloradoracingmemories.com/crm_joffer_bob/crmjoffer.htm
