Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
dude they FIT!!!! 275/35-18 no rubing at all! it really feels in the gap width wise with the 4 inch backspace! you probably can also fit a 40 series too... cuz the 35 is a bit shorter.. but i'm not about to get another set of tires ;) maybe you can try it :p i'd also go with a x9 on this with a 4 inch backspace and it should look really mean!

and CHECK THIS OUT! if you keep the x8 you should beable to fit a 285/35!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no problem who would of thought a 285 under a maverick with a stock rear end without sticking out of the fenders! the bad news is i think if will be hard trying to find somone who makes that size tire  i think BFGs got a drag tire in that sizes but i can't find out for sure cuz the site keeps freezing up my computer!

    anyways hope that info helps!

Note to all,, I have followed all the spring cutting threads on here for quite sometime. It seems that cutting the springs from the bottom ( I did mine that way) leaves us with a more calcuable result. Or, ride height is more greatly affected and diverse handling has arisen by cutting the top of the springs. More concrete ride height seems to be achieved by cutting the bottom of the spring. Something that I have always been told. I hope this helps.

Congrats, I knew you would do it. 285 will fit also but the lip has to be folded up & the fender pushed just a little. I wanted 295 but they will not fit, the frame is in the way.

Who would cut their springs from the top? I thought everyone cut them from the bottom. The top won't fit properly into the upper pocket if it's cut. In fact, the isolator "doughnut" won't fit on there either if the top is cut...:hmmm:

That's amazing that those tires fit under there, I want to see pictures of your car with those on it. I will definitely have to try that, but it's definitely going to have to wait till I need tires. Thanks for doing the research and seeing if they fit (y)
