Judy and I went to the Route 66 Festival in Springfield IL this weekend. Great time I might add. Ours was the only Mav/com there. If I had 5 of them there I could have sold all of them, maybe more. All I can say, if you are looking to sell a Mav/com and want offers on the spot, go to this event next year. Last time my car was in Springfield was 1982 at the Car Craft Street Machine Nationals. A couple of people even recognized it, which floored me. Springfield IL loves Mavericks for sure. I might just try for a mini meet there next year if they allow. Dan ps Gary Puckett Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Dan...way to go! Wish it wasn't so far. I'd make the trip also. I went to "Hot August Nights" in Lewiston, Idaho. I was recieved just like you were. I could have sold a few myself. Couldn't believe how many people had one at home...
Dan saw your car there. It looked Great as always. This is really a nice show also saw Dennis Gauge. All Those car's up and down the streets of down town Springfield is really cool.
well if i move to davenport IA next spring, iw ill be closer....and may have something to look forward to.... i would love to go to these meets you all are always talking about
Oh yeah, I forgot to tell ya all. I talked to Dennis Gage for like 10 minutes, people were getting their pics taken with him in front of my car. He was getting kinda mobbed so I didnt say anything or ask to get my pic taken. Then he comes over and asks me about a 37 Terraplane that was across from my car, we talked about it and where the owner was. Then he told me that he had 2 mavericks when he was in college, a 69.5 that was his Dad's new, then he traded that for a 72. So Mavericks took Dennis Gage thru college, pretty cool huh?. I took about 12 pics the whole time I was there, most of them were of an incredible Stang that just blew me away. When I get some time I will post pics of it. The car was soooo incredible it was almost impossible to get pics of. Then the owner of that car finds me later on. Said he had been looking for my car all day, he really liked it and said he never saw a Stallion before. We talked a good while. Great guy.
Sounds like it was a great time Dan! This might be one even I can get to next year, as business drops off in the fall. A mini-meet would be cool Eric J
Sounds like a good time. If it was in Springfield, VA I would have been there. Maybe we can all see Dennis Gage at an upcoming round up. That would be cool.
Dan I think a mini meet next year would be good! Just remember to put me on your personal invite list(remind), and maybe we can have two Stallions there!
